Here is the gorgeous menu of the day. YES, GREEN TRIPE.
Some people want to escape from it, some people get excited with joy. Yes that rumour is right. IT STINKS! I still think it is an indescribable smell and if I breath in a lot by mistake, it can make me throw up. HOWEVER, it is a magical and beautiful meal for dogs. It is full of goodness and nothing can replace it. It's a very balanced meat.
Green tripe is the stomach of ruminating animals like cows. It is full of enzymes, gastric juices and amino acids to digest the grass. Ruminating animals have a very complicated digestive system and this green tripe provides all the benefit that their digestive system has. Dogs and cats in the wild don't produce the enzymes in their saliva so when they eat their prey, they normally eat the stomach first to get digested vegetables and fruits that the prey has eaten which contains enzymes from prey's digestive system. So when you feed green tripe, you are helping your dog's digestion and they can gain more nutrition. Not only that, it helps to cleanse the blood. The body is a house of bacteria, good ones and bad ones. We live together with them. And the important thing is that you maintain the balance so that the bad ones won't take control and cause you problems. This is same with animals. Feeding green tripe will help boost their immune system and keep the good balance of bacteria.
So, does the smell still make you run away? For your precious dogs, I think you will put up with it!
