I am a big fan of feeding big chunks of meat. I am not a scientist so I can not prove it, but from my experience with my dog, I think that meaty bones are naturally balanced and her poop looks very healthy.
Becoming a very good raw feed mom, you need to be.....
- a good bargain hunter in the market & butcher
- a very precise poop detective
- an excellent hunter for the seasonal veg & fruit in the wild
A big, chunky, meaty bone contains balanced fat, meat, and bones and 'chewing' requires whole body exercise. When they chew, they use not only teeth but also gums, and also brain, shoulder and leg muscles too. So this whole action encourages the blood circulation as well. Nature knows best and when you follow Mother Nature's law, then you know you are doing it right.
