So here is one of my favorite vegetables, Gobo ( burdock root).
In Asia, people eat this as their daily vegetable. You can use it to make salad, soup, stir fry and so many more dishes.
When I came to the UK, I missed this so much and searched for it everywhere! Then when I was reading a book about herbs, I realized burdock root was the one I had missed so much!!! And in the book it even said it was recognized as a weed! How insulting!!! Another beneficial herb is misunderstood as a weed!
Gobo is a great herb that helps the liver and also skin. Burdock root grows deep under the earth and when you cut the freshly harvested root, you can see how juicy it is. I felt this is so symbolic of how this plant works inside us. It takes nutrition and water from the earth and inside is so white and full of moisture. When this herb works on the liver, it helps to produce more urine to pass toxins and any excess, thus it cleanses the blood too. When the blood is clean, the body becomes clean. And another good thing is this herb has so much fibre. In Japan, people eat this when they have constipation. Fiber is a good cleaner so I would recommend to make some smoothie with other greens and feed your animals.
This is the one you can use almost everyday for you and your fur companion.
Enjoy your new discovery!
