Since our Minty the Jack Russell has a sensitive skin and often gets itchy, I am using herbs that help to ease the uncomfortable symptoms as well as boost his liver and kidney functions.
This herbal infusion is specially blended for herbal bath and spray to ease itchiness. As I always write, it is so important to look into what is causing the symptoms rather than focusing on the symptoms. Then we can move forward with what they need. He is on a raw diet ( of couuuurse!) and I am using a variety of herbs to support him. So now it is the time to give him a quick but deeply relaxing healing bath so his skin won't get itchy.
♥ Recipe ♥
- 2 tbsp chickweed
- 2 tbsp calendula
- 2 tbsp nettle
- 1 tbsp chamomile
- 1 tbsp lavender
- Mix all the herbs in a heat proof glass jar and add hot water.
- Infuse them over night
You can use it as
- an infusion to add into a bath.(I normally add chickweed-and-calendula infused oil in the water too)
- an after bath rinse - dilute with the same amount of purified water and pour over the body after the bath. I prefer not to use a soup with dogs that have itchy skin as I want to keep it moist.
- as a skin mist - use diluted infusion.
You can share this herbal infusion with dogs :)
And please do not forget that they need help from inside the body. I am using this for our Minty ♥
